A City That Rewards Time
Cairo is not a city to rush. Its surface is chaotic, but underneath is one of the most historically dense places on earth. Islamic Cairo contains hundreds of medieval mosques, minarets, and bazaars compressed into narrow streets. Coptic Cairo holds some of the oldest Christian churches still standing. The Citadel sits above the city with a view across the skyline that has not fundamentally changed in centuries. The Egyptian Museum's collection spans three millennia of civilization. Most programs spend at least three days here. A first visit rarely covers everything.
