Egypt Takes Planning
Cairo has the pyramids and the museum. Luxor has the Valley of the Kings and Karnak. Aswan has Philae and the access point for Abu Simbel. Getting between them takes time, and doing it without a clear sequence means either rushing or missing things you came for. Travel packages handle the logistics: inter-city flights or overnight trains, hotel selection at each stop, daily guides, and site sequencing built around how much time each place actually needs. A standard package covers Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan over eight to ten nights. Shorter versions focus on one region. Extensions add Siwa, the White Desert, Saint Catherine, or a Nile cruise segment between Luxor and Aswan. The itinerary is reviewed and adjusted with you before departure. Browse our travel packages, or use Tailor Your Trip to build something entirely around what you want to see.

- Akhenaten and the Amarna Revolution
Culture & History · Jun 20, 2026
Some Egyptian rulers built bigger temples. Some conquered more territory. Akhenaten remains different because he tried to change the structure of Egyptian rule itself. During the 18th Dynasty, he shifted royal attention away from the old cult order, promoted the Aten above the traditional gods, founded a new capital at Akhetaten, and allowed a visual language that still looks startlingly unlike most other Egyptian court art. That is why he keeps attracting oversized labels: visionary, heretic, reformer, fanatic, first monotheist. The problem is that each label catches only part of what happened. Akhenaten's reign was radical, but not in one clean modern sense. It changed religion, yes, but it also changed the court, the image of the royal family, and the physical map of power. - Why Egypt Is Still Worth the Trip
Destination Guides · Jun 20, 2026
Egypt is easy to romanticize and just as easy to misunderstand. People come for the pyramids, but what makes the trip stay with them is the mix: ancient scale, river time, city energy, desert space, and a culture that still feels active around the history. This guide is for travelers asking the honest question: is Egypt still worth the effort? For the right kind of traveler, absolutely. - What a Month in Egypt Really Costs
Travel Tips · Jun 20, 2026
People often ask what it costs to live in Egypt for a month, but that question hides the part that matters most: what kind of month are you talking about? A Cairo apartment with mostly local meals is one budget. A month that mixes city stays, domestic flights, private drivers, museum visits, and a Nile segment is another. The gap between those two versions is large enough to make generic advice almost useless. Public June 2026 benchmarks already show that problem. Numbeo puts a single person's monthly costs excluding rent at roughly E£16,765 across Egypt and E£19,534 in Cairo, while Expatistan's Cairo estimate is much higher. That does not mean one source is useless and the other is right. It means you should treat public cost-of-living benchmarks as a floor, not as a full working budget for a travel-heavy month.
What does a travel package include?
Accommodation, inter-city transportation (flights or trains depending on the route), guided visits at each destination, and airport transfers. International flights and visa arrangements are not included.
How long are the packages?
Standard packages run eight to ten nights covering Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. Shorter four to five night versions focus on a single destination. Longer packages of twelve to fourteen nights add Siwa, the White Desert, or a Nile cruise.
Can the package be customized?
Yes. The starting point is a standard itinerary, but dates, pace, accommodation level, and site selection can all be adjusted. Mo reviews the itinerary with you before confirming.
How far in advance should I book?
At least six to eight weeks for most packages. The October through April travel period fills faster. The more specific the request, the earlier the booking should happen.
