Upon landing in Aswan, you’ll be met and transferred to your cruise vessel. Lunch is served onboard before setting out to discover the Aswan High Dam, a feat of modern engineering that tamed the Nile. Next, travel by boat to Agilkia Island to wander the elegant Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis. End the afternoon at the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan’s ancient granite quarries. Return to your ship for dinner and your first night in Aswan.

Begin the day with a guided tour of Kalabsha Temple, which features a blend of Roman and Egyptian iconography after its relocation from ancient Nubia. Continue to Beit El Wali, a rock-cut sanctuary built for Ramses II. After exploring the detailed reliefs, return to your ship, where lunch is served as you cruise south, passing the Tropic of Cancer on your way to Wadi El Seboua. Spend the night onboard as the scenery shifts to the remote shores of Lake Nasser.

After breakfast, venture ashore to Wadi El Seboua, known for its avenue of sphinxes and temples from the New Kingdom era. Continue to the Temple of Dakka and Temple of Maharraqa, both carefully moved to their present locations during the UNESCO salvage campaign. Return to the boat for lunch and continue your cruise toward Amada, enjoying the solitude of Lake Nasser along the way.

Disembark for a morning visit to Amada Temple, the Temple of Derr, and the Tomb of Pennut, all of which showcase well-preserved carvings and inscriptions from ancient Egypt. Later, the cruise passes Kasr Ibrim, where you can view its ruins from the ship’s sundeck as you approach Abu Simbel. In the evening, there’s the option to attend the Sound and Light Show at Abu Simbel, where the temples are illuminated with stories and music.

After breakfast, visit the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples, carved into the cliffs and dedicated to Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. These masterpieces were relocated to safety during the construction of Lake Nasser and remain an extraordinary achievement of modern archaeology. After your guided tour, you’ll be transferred to Abu Simbel Airport or your selected hotel for onward travel.
